Spend the day discovering two major museums of Paris: the Louvre, one of the largest museums in the world with more than 400,000 art works and Musée d’Orsay, housing the most important collection of Impressionist Art in the world.
Visit some prominent chateaux near Paris that have been the symbols of French political, cultural and artistic power and glory: Fontainebleau and Vaux-le-Vicomte. Fontainebleau was commissioned by King Francis I in the 16th C., built by Italian and French masters. All the important French kings have spent some time here and it was Napoleon’s favourite residence. Fontainebleau was the beginning of a spectacular era of creativity and design that will push France to the top of the leading countries in the world. Vaux-le-Vicomte, is a wonderful example of human pride, arrogance and creativity that will lead to a new style, the French Classical Style, which will prevail in Europe and beyond in the 17th, 18th and part of the 19th Century. The Château of Vaux-le-Vicomte is a masterpiece and has been the model for Versailles.
Discover the largest palace in France, built to the glory of the Sun King, Louis XIV, the world famous Château de Versailles. This more than 600 hectares estate, including several extraordinary chateaux and French formal gardens, forest, lakes and canals, is more than just a palace, it is almost like heaven. It took more than 100 years to complete the gigantic works of construction. Later on, enjoy an excursion to Giverny, with a visit to the marvellous house and gardens of one the greatest French painters, Claude Monet, one the founders of the Impressionist movement.
Excursion to the Loire Valley where you will visit two outstanding Renaissance chateaux, Chambord, the largest chateau in France with 440 rooms, built for King Francis I with the help and inspiration of the great Leonardo Da Vinci and Chenonceau, one of the most elegant and beautiful chateau of the Loire Valley.
