The Dordogne region is located in the South West of France, bordered by the major towns of Bordeaux and Toulouse.  Home to some of France’s great culinary traditions, such as foie gras and truffles, and great wines like Monbazillac or Pecharmant, it is also a region of France renown for its prehistoric art in caves with names like Font de Gaume or Lascaux, as well as its medieval castles in Biron, Castelnaud, and Beynac. Amongst breathtaking rural landscapes you will find villages and bastides such as Monpazier and Villefranche de Perigord made of stone, half-timbered walls and tiles.

This is a trip through time, an invitation to come and enjoy some of the beauty and pleasures of French life.  Come stay for three nights in a cozy “chambre d’hôte” in Biron; visit local wine makers, craftsmen, and artists whose warm welcome you will not soon forget; then spend three more relaxing and memorable days and nights in Sarlat.  All those whom you will meet look forward to sharing their passion, and opening their daily lives, to introduce you to la France profonde.
