You will unpack only once and use the charming B&B as a base for exploring one of the most beautiful natural regions in France, the Dordogne, a land of contrast and of sweet living. The owners will offer you a warm welcome, and they will be delighted to recount experiences of their everyday lives with participants curious to know more about French language and culture. 

 

Discover some wonderful medieval castles like Castelnaud and Lanquais, and meet the proprietors who will tell you about the history of their castles. Learn about French bread with a visit to a bakery and enjoy making real French bread with the baker. Excursions will include wine tours and tasting, prehistoric ancient caves, colorful markets, and a private French garden. You will enjoy meeting the owners who will tell you about the old traditions of gardening in France, or share the secrets of making the mellow local wine known as Monbazillac.

  • Discover some wonderful medieval castles and towns like Castelnaud, LanquaisBeynac and La Roque-Gageac. Enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful restored town of Sarlat and its Renaissance buildings.
  • Excursion to Périgueux, the capital of Dordogne, with visits to its wonderful and picturesque food market, its stunning Cathedral St. Front and beautiful 16th C. sections and the Museum of Vesunna, designed by the famous French architect Jean Nouvel and dedicated to a Gallo-Roman period of the Périgord.
  • Visit one the oldest vineyards of France and sample a large variety of Bergerac wines, including the reputed mellow wines of Monbazillac and, Pecharmant.
  • Discover one of the oldest walnut oil mills still operating and owned by the same family for several generations.
